Middle School Clubs & Activities

  • This club promotes friendship and acceptance for all students in Keystone Oaks Middle School. Students meet after school monthly to socialize and participate in teacher-led activities, including playing games, watching movies, practicing yoga, trivia contests, and holiday-themed activities. The Best Friends Club also coordinates events during Autism Awareness Week.

  • Whether you are new to the game of chess or are an experienced player, the KOMS Chess Club is for everyone! Students can learn and improve their game and compete with their classmates in a friendly Chess Tournament.

  • The Environmental Club is open to Middle School students who are concerned about the environment and our impact on it. Students participate in a variety of activities throughout the year, including the Phipps Fairchild Challenge, cleaning up the Middle School campus, and investigating environmental and ecology issues.

  • The Intramural Sports program gives sixth grade students the opportunity to participate in physical activities in a relaxed and fun atmosphere. Various games, such as dodgeball, mini basketball tournaments, wiffle ball, flag football, floor hockey, and soccer are played. Weather permitting, participants also participate in outdoor recreational activities such as relay races, kick ball, and walking trails. This is a great opportunity for students to stay active, learn a variety of sports, and to build relationships with their classmates.

  • The Marching Band is one of the most visible and active organizations at Keystone Oaks. The Marching Band performs throughout the fall at all varsity football games, select community events and parades, various band festivals, and the Fall Fantasy Parade at Kennywood Park. Open to students in grades 7 through 12, the Marching Band is one of the most fun and rewarding experiences at KO!
